Business Partner Search

Description

This screen allows users to search for registered business partners in ECMS using one or more search criteria. Minimally, the user must specify whether they want to search for private sector businesses or government agencies, as well as the type of business partner (for example, bonding agency, contractor, consultant). The search can be further refined by entering all or part of the business partner name, the ZIP Code, City, or State. The search results are displayed at the bottom of the screen when the user clicks the Search button. Results include the Business Partner Name, Address, City, and Contact Information (phone, fax, and email entered on the Admin Info tab of the Business Partner Registration screen). The Business Partner Search screen can be accessed by any ECMS user, including anonymous public users.

Fields

Field Name	State	Description
Type	Required	This radio button group allows the user to select the type of business partner: private sector or government agency. The default search criterion is Private Sector, but it may be changed.
Doing Business As	Required	This drop-down list allows the user to select the business partner relationship, for example, Consultant, Construction Contractor, Printing Partner.
Business Partner ID	Optional	This field allows the user to enter the 6-digit business partner ID (BPID), if known. No partial BPIDs are allowed.
Name	Optional	This field allows the user to enter all or part of the business partner name as one of the search criteria.
City	Optional	This field allows the user to enter all or part of the city as one of the search criteria.
Zip Code	Optional	This field allows the user to enter the 5-digit Zip Code as one of the search criteria. No partial Zip Codes are permitted.

Name	Display	This field displays the business partner name matching the entered search criteria. Results are displayed alphabetically by name.
BP ID	Display	This value appears in parentheses under the BP Name.
Office	Display	This field displays the business partner office.
Address	Display	This field displays the address, including city, state, and Zip code, for the associated business partner/office.
Contact Information	Display	This field displays the phone, fax, and email information as it appears on the Business Partner Information - Administrator Info tab.

Actions

 

Action	Description
? (icon)	When the user clicks this icon, they are taken to the screen's "Tell Me About" Help document, which provides a brief screen description, a definition of each field, and a definition of each 'action' (link, button, icon).
Up/Down Arrows (icon)	When the user clicks the up arrow at the top left corner of the display, they are taken to the top of the screen view. When the user clicks the down arrow at the top left corner of the display, they are taken to the bottom of the screen view. TIP: The function buttons such as BACK, EDIT, and SAVE are always located at the extreme bottom of the screen. Use the down arrow to quickly move to the buttons you need.
Back (button)	When the user clicks this button, they are returned to the previous screen in the browser history.
Search (button)	When the user clicks this button, the screen is refreshed to display the business partner information matching the entered search criteria.
Clear (button)	When the user clicks this button, the search criteria are cleared.
