FPN Information

Description

The FPN Information screen provides a summary-level view of all federal project numbers (FPNs) assigned to the project. The list may include pending FPNs that are created before an actual FPN is assigned. It also shows all fund codes assigned to a particular FPN, along with the Funding Page Description for each fund code. The Federal Project Number field provides a hyperlink to the Federal Estimate Construction Engineering Summary screen for the specified FPN. The Federal Estimate Construction Engineering Summary screen supports the entry of all relevant detail data regarding federal participation that is summarized on the FPN Information screen.

This screen is part of the Project Services subsystem and provides part of the Project Funding functionality. The FPN Information screen can be accessed from the Go links of project-related screens when the user selects "FPN Information" and clicks the Go button. This screen is only available for federal aid projects.

Fields

Field Name	State	Description
Project Header (Full)	Display Only	The full project header fields are displayed as a standard throughout much of ECMS. The header displays general project information including Project number, Short project description, District number, County, Project Status, SR, Section, Municipality, Group and Admin Org Code. The header also provides quick navigation to other screens related to the same project: Contractors click the word "Project" to navigate to the Contractor Project page. The words "Project Team" take Contractor users to the Third Party Project Team screen. PENNDOT, FHWA, Municipal, and Consultant users click the word "Project" to link to the Project Information or Construction Project Information screen (depending on Project Status). The words "Project Team" take these users to the Project Team screen. The header also provides a 'fast path' to the same screen for a different project number. Users navigate by typing the destination project number in the Project field (next to the Project link) and clicking the GO button.
Federal Work Type	Display Only	The four-character code that identifies the type of work associated with the project for this FPN.
Fund Code	Display Only	The two-digit code that represents a specific combination of funding which includes the FPN. The funding sources may be federal, state, "other" agency, or a combination of these. The relationship between the fund code and the federal participation on the project is established via the Fund Description screen.
Fund Code Description	Display Only	A short description of the fund code. This information is initially entered for the fund code on the Fund Description screen.
Go Links	Selectable	This drop-down list allows the user to select a destination screen to which they want to navigate. This field is used in conjunction with the Go button and performs a function similar to ‘fast pathing’ in a mainframe environment.

Actions

Action	Description
? (icon)	When the user clicks this icon, they are taken to the screen’s “Tell Me About” Help document, which provides a brief screen description, a definition of each field, and a definition of each ‘action’ (link, button, icon).
Up/Down Arrows (icon)	When the user clicks the up arrow at the top left corner of the display, they are taken to the top of the screen view. When the user clicks the down arrow at the top left corner of the display, they are taken to the bottom of the screen view. TIP: The function buttons such as BACK, EDIT, and SAVE are always located at the extreme bottom of the screen. Use the down arrow to quickly move to the buttons you need.
Select (unlabeled checkbox)	When the user selects the FPN by clicking in the unlabeled checkbox to the left of the FPN and clicks the DELETE button, the FPN detail information is deleted from the project. This checkbox is only displayed in no items are linked to the FPN via the fund code.
FPN (link)	When the user clicks the FPN hyperlink, they are taken to the Federal Estimate Construction Engineering Summary screen for the specified federal project number.
Fund Code (link)	When the user clicks this hyperlink, they are taken to the Fund Description screen for the specified fund code.
Back (button)	When the user clicks this button, they are returned to the previous screen in the browser history.
Add (button)	When the user clicks this button, the screen Federal Construction Engineering Summary screen is displayed in create mode. The button is only displayed when the user has create authority. The security parameters controlling which users have create authority during various project statuses is described in the online User Dictionary.
Delete (button)	When the user selects the FPN (using the unlabeled checkbox to the left of the FPN) and clicks this button, the FPN detail information is deleted. This checkbox is only displayed in no items are linked to the FPN via the fund code.
Go (button)	When the user clicks this button, the destination screen they selected from the Go Links drop-down field is displayed.
